Gate is one of the 32 Tempos currently available in HOURS. It is available to the player after beating Downcast Days with Witness
Usage[]
When activated, the player will be transported into the past to fight alongside their past self, which will mirror its moves during the specific seconds the effect lasts before the tempo's activation. After 5 seconds, the host controlled will disappear and controls will switch to the past (now present) host.
This tempo has a duration of 5 seconds and a cooldown for 15 seconds. When Overclocked, it'll activate itself again after initial de-activation, allowing 3 hosts to exist at once, and its cooldown is reduced to 10 seconds.
Tips[]
Gate can easily multiply the player's damage output, but it's also easy to mess up your past selves' actions by moving enemies out of the way with attacks by accident, negating past attacks from you. It's very good for Witness, Vestige, and Subject as they have easy-to-land powerful attacks to add to your enemies' detriment, or yours, if you're not careful.
When Overclocked, Gate activates again when it ends, allowing you to carry out more actions in the past 5 seconds.
Trivia[]
- Gate is named after the series "Stein's Gate".
- It could also be a reference to the abilities of Mandom and Killer Queen, Stands from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
- If any hosts die while Gate is active, the game ends.
- Gate will sometimes replay time inaccurately, especially obvious on Minutes (Difficulty) and above.
