Bosses are powerful foes that appear in each stage after Sinking Sands. After you've defeated five enemies (or upon reaching phase three for Resident Mind), there will be a long pause before the boss will spawn. Defeating a boss allows you to move onto the next stage. However, once you defeat Resident Mind, you will be able to complete the game.
Certain Hosts can be obtained by defeating these bosses for the first time:
- Defeating Equinox unlocks Prophet.
- Defeating Bloxxerman unlocks Witness.
- Defeating Ronin Alpha unlocks Artisan.
- Defeating Resident Mind unlocks Vestige.
- Completing the game with all 4 hosts previously mentioned and Invader unlocks Visitor.
- Completing the game on Seconds unlocks Subject
- Completing the game on Hours difficulty or above with Page equipped unlocks Parting
