(Drifter backstory)
The average noob looked up from his beginning of being a laughingstock. He glared at the sunrise from afar, his face tight. He turned around to see the world's prayers drawing its eyes down his face. The noob got chills from this, backing up with a tinge of fright and quiver in his stance. He looked down over the edge of the cliff that he was upon. Down there was a cave, if he had the aerobic mentality to, he could get away.
The white orb advanced on him, closing options of any. The noob backed again, his foot caught air and he fell, twirling down. He looked for a root or something to grab. A root was apparent at his hand and he clasped it, clambered to the cave and hid. The Resident of Minds vaporized the entrance, making it impossible to escape. The noob did not fret. He walked through the cave and found a sword. A katana. It was a bit old, but still on a pedestal, waiting for its owner. The noob took it to defend himself from the entity outside. He cleared his throat quietly, murmuring, "I need to learn this weapon."
So he trained for as long as he possibly could before getting hungry. He pulled his katana out and started to slice and cut at the rock, hoping for any kind of success. It did not affect the rock in any way. Not even a budge. He took a breath and looked down dramatically. His eyes closed and he held his sword down. His soul would soon be the sword itself, depraving himself of a life in the process. However, his life did not disintegrate. He saw through glassy eyes the truth around him. Nothing was the truth; everything was surreal. He channeled his anger into every thrust of his newly colored blade, yelling with every swing until he broke the rock that confined him. He then stared down at the glistering water of death.
He opened his eyes and stared at the sunset. It was time for sleep. He did not abide, no. He looked at the moon and inhaled, making it sharp and abrupt before the inevitable. He jumped, then just drifted away, as lifeless as the truth of the surrounding world that confined him to a bed of water and rocks. Until eventually he would discover the mirror.
The mirror of lies.
